I have a Shorkie (shih tzu-yorkie) named Lilly. She is hypoallergenic. and loves children. I am currently in school to receive my Bachelor of Arts degree along with a degree in Early childhood Education.
I Have my Directors Credential and hold a level 4 credential with Colorado shines. I am trained in inclusive classroom and believe we all learn better together. I have worked within special needs programs and have worked alongside parents of exceptional children. I have training in social emotional growth, and development, and hold a Certificate in Pyramid Plus approach to learning. I believe in teaching self-regulation and modeling kindness.
I promise to love, respect, listen to, honor, teach, encourage, promote play, spark imagination, guide, and inspire your child in hopes that they will find a love for each other, our world and of learning. – Miss Brenda
As an Early Childhood Educator for over 25 years, I have worked in a variety of programs with many teaching philosophies. I have taken some of the teaching strategies that I love and that have worked for the children in my classrooms and integrated them to build a fun and unique program. In my pedagogy (teaching methods) I have taken the Montessori approach to learning, (encourage children’s natural ability and intelligence to make discoveries) Reggio Emilia approach, ( Children are encouraged to explore the world around them, the children are participants in their own learning and the classroom is a teacher) and Waldorf( children learn through imaginative play and creativity) to create a play-based experience that allows children to develop into their full potential.
A few of my favorite things
I love reading and learning. I recently learned to ski and can’t wait for snowfall. I am a Colorado native and love to hike, run and of course head to the mountains for camping and fly fishing. I am a Zumba instructor and enjoy dancing. Cheyenne Frontier Days is a family tradition, and we never miss the pancake breakfast. My favorite treats are Pizza and chocolate covered almonds. My favorite Childrens book is Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems.
I look forward to serving your family.
I have 3 years of experience in early childhood education. I have worked as an early childhood substitute teacher and served as a Mops Kids worker. I am the middle child of five siblings, and I have a beautiful one year old daughter. She is my world. I love working with children and watching how fast they are able to learn new skills and be good friends. Miss Brenda is my mom.
